Tri-Cities sales tax collections decline

TRI-CITIES, Tenn. – State sales tax collections are up from last year, but the growth rate has plunged from 15% in February to 0.2% in May.

So far this year, non-adjusted collections in the Johnson City metro area have averaged $22.5 million a month. Kingsport-Bristol’s average is $22.6 million a month.
