NE Tenn. unemployment claims were up for the third straight week in the current state Department of Labor and Workforce Developments count.The increase is slight (22 claims) from the week ending April 12 and 279 higher than the most recent low at the week ending Mar. 27.
Counties with increasing claims were Carter, Greene, and Hawkins. Claims in Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi, and Washington counties declined.
The local March labor market report that includes the number and type change, employment and labor force levels and the number of that employers are currently advertising will be available next week on this site.
