110 new home sales JC metro – 78 in Kingsport-Bristol; avg. price up in JC, down in Kingsport-Bristol


Here’s a quickie look at some new home market data thanks to the folks at metrostudy and Builder Magazine.

During the 12 months ending in December there were 189 new home sales in the Tri-Cities.

Here’s how that breaks down by the area’s two major areas.

Johnson City MSA 110 sales.

Kingsport-Bristol MSA 78 sales.

The December sales price in the JC metro area was $308,675, up from $229,039 last year.

The average mortgage was $220,096, up from $196,953 last year.

New home sales accounted for 2% of home sales in the JC metro area.

Kingsport-Bristol’s average sales price was $189,500 down from $242,564 December last year.

The average mortgage was $165,885, down from $223,117 last year.

New home sales accounted for 1% of the Kingsport-Bristol market.
