June Tri-Cities foreclosure filings down, year-to-date NTS filings continue trending higher

New foreclosure filings slowed in the Tri-Cities’ county markets in June when compared to May. But the year-to-date trend for Notice of Trustee Sales filings continues to be higher than last year.  REOs were also up during the first six months of this year, but not nearly as much as the NTS.

June’s filings are part of RealtyTrac’s foreclosure round-up for the first half of 2015.

The reduction of foreclosures making it to REO status combined with limited new home construction and increased resales has tightened the overall inventory.

Investors and lender-owner programs are taking up the NTS slack.

The foreclosure rate for the Kingsport-Bristol MSA is now slightly below the pre-recession level while it’s still slightly above a pre-recession norm in the Johnson City MSA.
