Sullivan, Washington Co. distressed home sales prices show big declines from last year


According to RealtyTrac’s current foreclosure sales report the median sales price of distressed homes — those in the foreclosure process or bank-owned — reached a high of $128,625, the highest since December 2009, 35% below the median sales price of non-distressed properties, $199,000. Distressed home prices increased at a faster pace, up 18% from a year ago.

Distressed sales median prices for two local counties are included in the report – Sullivan and Washington Co. TN. Distresses sales show substantial reductions when compared to November last year and were over 60% less than the median sales price of non-stressed sales.

Last month’s median distressed sale price in Sullivan Co was $38,000, down 24% from the same month last year. The median stressed sales price was 63.8% less than the median non-stressed sales median.

In Washington County it was $46,801, down 40% from November last year.  The median stressed sales price was 65.2% less than the non-stressed home sale price.
