Tennessee jobless rate increased to 7.9%


Tennessee’s unemployment rate for March increased to 7.9 percent from the February revised rate of 7.8 percent. The national unemployment rate for March 2013 was 7.6 percent, decreasing by one tenth of one percentage point from the previous month.

Job sectors posting job losses from last month were: information, educational services and government.

The labor market report for cities with population of 25,000 and above and counties is schedule for release lat next week.
